Entre los más de 36 mil integrantes que participaron en la Maratón de Boston también se encontraron periodistas que mientras corrían tuiteaban. No era un evento cualquiera. Hace solo un año, el evento deportivo fue escenario de una tragedia.

Bill Kole , jefa de la oficina de The Associated Press de Boston, corrió y reportó los acontecimientos de la carrera. Otros colegas que estuvieron presente fueron Natalie Morales de la NBC, Elizabeth Comeau de Radio BDC y Matt Cutts de Google, entre otros.

El año pasado, la maratón acabó en tragedia cuando unas explosiones fueron detonadas en la llegada y dejaron numerosos heridos y muertos. Así como ahora, muchos periodistas participaron en el encuentro deportivo y también cubrieron el nefasto evento.

Este año, el diario The Boston Globe recibió el Premo Pulitzer en la categoría de «Noticia de Último momento» por la cobertura del suceso.
